Science - Water Boat
AIM: Designing a container that would hold water and not catch on fire.
METHOD:
Equipment : -1 piece of A4 white paper. Glue stick. Scissors. Bunsen burner, heat mat, tripod. Gas and lighter. Beaker to hold the water.
1. Folded the paper sides into a square using my hands to made edges. Used the glue to secure the corners to make stronger.
2. Make sure the hole was closed on the bunsen burner.
3. Turned on gas and lite.
4. Filled my paper container with water and placed onto the tripod
RESULTS : 16.79 seconds before it went up in flames.
CONCLUSION : Design of the paper container was too big. If I had made it smaller with extra layers it may have lasted longer before burning or dripping water.
SAFETY: Glasses, Roll up sleeves, tie up long hair. Hole
